We’re excited to welcome a new artist, Fira, to the Craft House Gallery.
Although Fira’s family has called Atlantic Highlands home for quite some time, much of her life has been shaped by traveling and exploring different parts of the world. The places she has visited, the people she has encountered, and the experiences she has gathered along the way have become some of her greatest creative influences.
Fira believes that creating something meaningful begins with fully experiencing life.
After graduating from SUNY Oswego last year, she gave herself time to reflect on what she had learned—not only through her education, but through travel, relationships, and her own personal growth. That reflection continues to shape the way she approaches her work today.
Art as a Way of Understanding
At the heart of Fira’s art is curiosity: about the people around her, the world we share, and the parts of ourselves that aren’t always easy to put into words.
Through her work, she explores both the external world and her own inner landscape. Each piece becomes a way to better understand an emotion, an experience, or a moment in time.
Her art doesn’t tell the viewer exactly what to think or feel. Instead, it offers an invitation to slow down, look a little closer, and reflect on what the work brings up for them.

An Evolving Creative Practice
Fira primarily works with oil paint, a medium that allows her to build depth, movement, and emotion into her pieces. More recently, she has begun experimenting with different materials, techniques, and creative processes.
For Fira, working across different mediums isn’t simply about trying something new. Each one gives her another way to express a particular feeling or experience more honestly. Some ideas need the richness of oil paint, while others ask for a different texture, process, or visual language.
That willingness to explore mirrors the meaning behind her work: growth rarely happens in only one direction.
